This page covers notes for PrintCAD 1.18 that are not included in the
v1.16 manual.
For the destination file, if you specify a file name extension that
is a three digit number (000, 323, etc.), and PrintCAD outputs
multiple pages (via the multiple copies option or tiling), then
rather than appending the destination file, additional files are
created with sequential extensions. For example "PRINTCAD sample.plt
/Q4 /Doutput.000" creates files output.001, output.002, output.003,
and output.004. This is useful for PCX output.
Pen widths can be up to 24 dots. Odd widths of 9 or above are
modified to the next higher (even) width.
The LaserJet 4 is supported at 600 dpi via /FI+ (or via HP-GL/2 with
/F0~600).
The Canon BJ-200 in Epson LQ mode is compatible with the Canon
BJC-800 driver in b/w mode (/FB~).
The DeskJet 500C driver (/FA) now has three modes. /FA uses RGB
color planes as before. /FA! uses CMY color planes and may improve
speed. /FA!` uses CMYK color planes and might give better blacks on
the DeskJet 550C. The compatibility of these drivers is:
/FA - DJ 500C, MT MT92C
/FA! - DJ 500C, DJ550C, PJ XL300
/FA!` - DJ 550C
The N suboption of the /X option installs PrintCAD as a nonswapping
TSR. This can fix compatibility problems on DOS extender based
programs but uses up a significant amount of DOS memory.
